Book: Amos Andersons Söderlångvik

20.5.2021

In connection with the reopening of Söderlångvik’s museum on June 3rd 2021, Söderlångvik Manor published a new book in Swedish and Finnish, Amos Andersons Söderlångvik / Amos Andersonin Söderlångvik. It is a compact collection of articles that illuminate the history and current activities of the estate from different angles.

The reader gets to dive into the different stages in the history of the museum building, the manor that was once Amos Anderson’s (1878–1961) dear summer residence. You get to know what Kimito Island meant to the successful businessman and patron, and how he transformed the farm’s log house into an Italian-inspired villa. You get an overview of the farm’s activities today, and can also read about how the museum achieved its original 1930s shape during the extensive renovation 2019–2020.
