Amos was always happy to welcome guests to Söderlångvik, whether they were friends or groups from the associations on Kimitoön with which he was involved. He acted as a patron for organisations including the Martha Association and the Solhult orphanage, which opened in 1922, and took the initiative to establish the Martha-run Labbnäs, a holiday home for mothers. He also attached great importance to improving transport links to the island.
