In the relaxed and informal atmosphere of Söderlångvik, the often-busy Amos Anderson found a place where he could feel at home. Here he spent time with both friends and staff. In his later years, he invited close friends such as Prime Minister Karl-August Fagerholm, the author Johan Jakob Huldén, the actress Mia Backman, and the composer Bengt Carlson, whose greeting in the form of a melody is preserved in the guest book.
Together, Amos and his guests went on excursions to nearby islands and around his vast estates, which covered some 7,000 hectares. Amos used to say that it took the ‘Sverigebåten’, the ferry to Sweden, three hours to pass through his estates.
